Welcome all players and parents of the South Perth Junior Football Club to the 2019 football season!
Our Club’s goal has always been to encourage all players to enjoy the game and develop as footballers by providing a positive, safe and supportive club environment. If we can achieve that goal, on field success will follow.
This does not happen without the contribution of many people. For this reason, I would like to acknowledge the Committee that is once again made up of enthusiastic and dedicated people who have volunteered their time and energy to ensure the continued success of the Club. I am very grateful to each and every one of them for their support.
The Club continues to receive wonderful support from its sponsors. Without this ongoing support the Club would not be the success that it is and provide our members with the very best of everything. Thank you to all our Club sponsors.
I would especially like to thank the Club’s major sponsor, Ian Hutchinson Real Estate. Your continued support is a major factor in the Club’s ongoing success and I would urge you to all support our Club sponsors whenever you can. A full list of our sponsors is available on our website – and don’t forget to mention that you found them through South Perth Junior Football Club.
Thank you also to all our coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and those of you who are fulfilling other important roles that enable our children to play our great game.
This year Auskick 2.0 will be rolled out, which is probably the biggest change to Auskick in nearly 20 years. The program provides the basis for the future success of the Club and we anticipate continued high levels of participation in both Auskick and Little Stingers. The success of these junior programs is vitally important to enable the Club to field teams in both the modified rules and youth competitions.
In the youth grades we are very excited by the new Year 11/12 Central Conference competition, which will allow us to field a year 11/12 team again for the first time in a few years. Off field additional shelter to the pavilion will be greatly welcomed by our parents and spectators as will the ungraded lights for our players.
During the year you will be asked to volunteer in various capacities to assist your child’s team or the Club in general. Every week there are lots of tasks that need to be done that are critical to making the game day experience a great one for players and spectators – cutting up oranges, goal umpiring, boundary umpiring, running water, sizzling the sausages. The Club can only operate with the ongoing assistance of volunteers, and so please accept the requests with a smile and help make a difference
If you have any questions or feedback during the year, please contact me or any other Committee member. Our details are on the website.
Finally, I wish all of our teams the best of luck for the season ahead and hope that everyone involved in the Club has an enjoyable and successful season.
Travis Burrows – President – SPJFC
